GoliathApp

General-purpose enterprise platform for access control, workflows, and distributed workers.

GoliathApp provides role-based access control, a workflow engine, user-defined actions, and distributed workers. Applications extend it. The platform does not describe those applications and does not depend on them.

GoliathApp is a general-purpose enterprise platform meant to be extended by specialized applications. Role-based access control and a database-backed workflow engine sit at the core. Applications define actions that implement workflows, and the platform enrolls and dispatches the distributed workers that run them. It has no upstream product dependency.

The platform host is a separate site. In this repository it is still a placeholder, not a running product.

From the manifest

Role-based access control

Users, groups, roles, permissions, scopes, and sessions live in the RBAC schema. Portal procedures administer grants, invitations, and sessions.

Workflow engine

PostgreSQL and Azure SQL run workflow graphs: sequences, branches, loops, foreach, and events. Workers lease action nodes and the engine continues from result codes.

User-defined actions

Actions are data. Each action names a capability and input and output types. A specialized application supplies the handler that performs the action.

Distributed workers

Workers enroll through the gateway from a preregistered address, then claim, heartbeat, and submit over REST. Capability lists, concurrency, and affinity decide which worker receives a task.
